What features would make feedly better for you?

  1. allow one-click access to the mark unread/read icon

I would really like to be able to mark items as unread with a single click (i.e. place the icon at the top in article view, next to the customisable share & save icons). In Google Reader, I would often scan through my unread items and 'mark unread' anything that I wanted to come back to later to read properly. This would keep it in my unread queue, rather than moving it off to a separate 'saved for later'- type queue.

  2. Make an option to preserve original html formatting of feed content

One thing that I find a bit annoying in feedly (compared to Google Reader) is that it modifies original html formatting of the rss post (presumably to make content nicer and fit it in the narrow viewport), e.g. resizing pictures and adding margins.

The problem with this is that it doesn't always work well, e.g. some blogs that I read use double <br> to separate text from images and it ends up having huge blank spaces before and after the image (since the margin is added).

So, I think it would be nice to have an option to preserve exact…

  4. Original enclosure links

Original enclosure links appear at the bottom of some RSS items in Google Reader, which can contain more functional & preferred links for items.

Would be great to have this functionality brought over - in the effort to maintain as many of Google Reader converts as possible.

  5. Feed displays only last month's items. Should display older items too.

When we click on any feed under any category , it only lists items posted within past one month. It doesn't show older items. Actually it should show older items infinitely.

Actually it shows older item in search result when we go to "add content" and search for that feed and click on that feed from feed search result.

  6. allow me to see how many people are subscribed to my blog's feed

In Google Reader I could click "view details and statistics" and see how many subscribers my own blog has. Is it possible to see how many I have through Feedly?

  7. Adding next and last article buttons on the website version. Not the Jump to next button which will just go to next unread article.

There is button on the top of Google reader that allow going to the next or the past article. I want a similar feature like that since most of the time I want to click on the oldest unread article and click the next button to skip through unwanted one. But the " Jump to Next" button isn't what I want. A simple up and down arrow for going through the list will be useful.

  8. Hotkeys in other languages

If I change the keyboard layout (to Russian) the hotkeys don't work.

  9. Remove or at least increase the time/item limits that Google Reader had.

Google reader has a rather arbitrary limit on feed items. It automatically prunes items older than a month and it also has a 10000 item cap. I can understand an item cap, but the time limit just seems completely arbitrary.

I have some feeds that I would prefer to let build up over the course of a couple months then plow through all at once, but unfortunately with Google Reader this can't be done.

Now that you're moving to your own back-end, please increase or remove this limit.

  10. auto refresh

I just would love to have an auto update of unread items, even while I am reading.
I don't want to have to press the refresh icon to see that there are new unread.
Infact, I love my extension (Chrome) where I see the number of unread items once there are some, and I go straight to visit the site to read them.
Thanks. See ya in a few weeks

  11. How can I subscribe to RSS feeds directly?

As other many users, I discovered Feedly after the GReader's End news. I like this app and now I use it on Windows PC, tablet Android and smartphone Android.

Only one doubt, how can I subscribe to RSS feeds directly? Now when I try a new subscription, it´s possible only if the search form find the web. Sometimes I can´t subscribe from a RSS feed as I used to do with Greader...

    Thanks!

  13. add an Open All Unread button

I just signed up for Feedly, forced out into the cold by Google's unyielding hands. One big reason I was such a holdout was something that wasn't actually a feature of Reader, but an awesome GreaseMonkey script for it: Open All Unread (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/22275) It's pretty straightforward. It opens all unread news items in separate tabs inside your browser (usually limited to around 40). Any chance of getting something similar implemented for Feedly?

  14. It would be nice if Feedly just stayed open all the time and one didn't have to keep logging in to Google Reader.

  16. Make a feature much like Google Reader's ability to "Mark as read older than..."

I'd like to ignore everything older than a week, two weeks, etc.

I currently have to go into Google Reader and mark them as read older than a week, and I will not be able to do this soon.

  17. option to disable narrow mode, or have the left menu always present

In google reader the left menu was always present. With feedly, narrow mode removes this menu. It would be nice to retain this menu no matter the screen or window size.

  18. make it such that blog articles are updated in Feedly if changes are made to the original post..

I am rather dismayed to discover that blog articles in Feedly do not update. For example, I made some changes to a post of my own in blogger, removing details that I later wanted to exclude, and the original post is what is still in Feedly. This is a disaster for bloggers if edits that they make in posts are not updated in rss readers.

  19. "Mark as Read to here" shortcut key (or command) when scrolling through list of articles.

When scrolling through a feed list that doesn't have the "mark as read when scrolling" feature set (i.e. mosaic, tiles)... and the user doesn't *always* want to mark as read when scrolling. Allow a shortcut key that says "mark everything up to here at read."

  20. Allow adding custom RSS feeds

I want to read one blog in my feedly. I can copy the rss feed url of the blog and paste in feedly and feedly identifies the blog. But

But the problem is Feedly recognizes the website as source and shows all news. While the feed URL I selected from that website was for specific category of news.

Now I dont want all news from that website. I just want specific category of news. Which I am getting as RSS feed from the website but feedly won't let me add that RSS . Because it thinks it already has that…
