What features would make feedly better for you?

  1. Text Only Mode

Allow a text only mode for the mobile (and maybe even desktop) apps. The goal would be to limit bandwidth usage to speed access and help avoid reaching usage limits. Most of the time I am only interested in reading content via feedly. It would be great to be optionally view some images when I want to (represent the image via a grey box?).
Android and presumably IOS as well.

  2. Android app: Add ability to zoom text and images

    1. Open a post with image(s), such as XKCD post.
    2. Look at the image

    Expected:
The image is too small to read the text, so you should be able to zoom in.

    Observed:
You have to follow up to the actual site before you can zoom.

  4. incorporate a way to automatically append URLs with an ezproxy modifier

Many academics and medical professionals use Feedly to stay up to date on current scientific literature; however, this is more difficult on mobile devices because paywalls are less easily circumvented.

Links from the RSS feed for academic journals (e.g. the New England Journal of Medicine) usually bring you to a paywall, and then, on Desktop, it is common to use a bookmarklet that redirects through a university's ezproxy server.

    For example, the bookmarklet:

    javascript:u=window.location.href;window.location.href='http://'+u.substring(7,u.indexOf('/',8))+'.ezp1.harvard.edu/'+u.substr(u.indexOf('/',8)+1);

    Changes the URL: www.NEJM.org

    To: www.NEJM.org.ezp1.harvard.edu

This allows you to log in to your university library, and view the paywalled article.

    Unfortunately, this does…

  6. Make options to turn off feed "covers" and posts' images in list mode.

It's highly needed on small displays of mobile devices

  7. an unread badge icon.

Have an unread badge icon for iOS.

Also have the exact number of unread articles in the app instead of having 499+

  9. please add Persian language support for android app

    Hi
Fidel is a very good mobile application.
    There's only one problem.
And the problem is that the Android phones that do not support Persian and Arabic, and Persian words to the contrary is shown separately.
You know the way to this problem?? Within the app itself there is no option to solve this problem!
This problem is solved. Only the application of the constructive support.
For example, Iran's constructive << Latest News >> an option to modify the settings of texts with the option to check it, just show the text in Persian.
    Thank

    Link's Latest News (Android)…

  10. unresponsive

On my toshiba at200 android tablet, the feedly app became very unresponsive with the latest update. Also touching an article headline in the overview will open any other article, but not the one i actually touched.

  11. create an automatic night mode setting on the mobile apps.

The night theme is great, but you have to manually select it after being blinded by the day theme. Why not add a setting so the app automatically switches to the night theme between user selected times at night?

  12. have the setting: Play videos in an external player (Android app)

Play videos in an external player app. I have a video player that can fast forward and change the brightness. I would like to use that player to watch video podcast rather than the default player within the app.

  13. Make Feedly's iOS app responsive to keyboard shorcuts for those of us with Bluetooth keyboards

I use my iPad with a bluetooth keyboard and I would love to be able to use the same keyboard shortcuts from the browser extension on my iOS device.

  14. Make a DashClock Widget extention.

It could be very useful to know if I have any unread articles without even opening the app...

  15. Save the scroll position of previous articles

When reading long articles in the Feedly mobile app I sometimes accidentally swipe over to the next article instead of continuing down (I have transitions set to 'swipe')

When swiping back to the article I was reading, it will jump to the top of the page again.

Please have an option to disable this behaviour and keep the position of the previous article.

I have seen this happen in the Android, iPad and iPhone apps.

    Thanks!

  16. More flexible widget (android)

I think you have to increase the feedly-widget's flexibility by:

    1) allow a list of several titles (maybe 7, instead of only 1 headline at the time)

    2) allow the user to choose which category the widget should display/present

  17. Add context (long press) menu to Android

The current interaction model for the Android app is I can scroll down, skimming as I go, but I can long press on an article title in the list to get a popup with the following options:
    - Mark read
    - Mark Previous as read
    - Add star (bookmark)
    - Share
    - Tag

I use the mark previous as read a lot because sometimes I scroll back up to something I passed depending on how my feed is sorted. Currently, long press in the Android app just bookmarks the article.

  18. responsive site for mobile devices that doesn't have official app (e.g. Windows Phone)

The current cloud site isn't responsive and it's almost impossible to work with in browser

  19. enable users to choose what longpress on article does on Android (eg. directly open the article in Chrome / default action)

As I'd like more often to open articles in Chrome directly rather then go to article view and do it from there - it would be great if we could have some options for long pressing articles in the list overview. Thanks!

  20. Only text of articles.

Please, add an option for downloading only text (and images) of an article. There are websites that loads the entire web version. This consumes a lot of data and slows the article's load.
