Web UI: Hide left toolbar & bring back contrast
These are the two changes in the new Web UI that utterly ruin my experience and I can't figure out why you did it like this.
- Kill the left tool-bar. Kill it with fire. Pointless and bad. What do users do more often, add content or read content?? The menu bar appears to exist solely for the purpose of frustrating me when I try to access the Feeds list - my muscle memory takes the mouse over to the tool-bar accidentally. Because every other website with a UI element such as the Feeds list has it on the left side of the screen. Have you people ever seen a little website called Gmail?
The really frustrating bit is that this toolbar clutters up the interface for literally no reason, because there's a whole unused bar of whitespace at the top of the screen where these functions used to be!!
If you can't bring yourself to admit you're wrong and remove the toolbar entirely, at least allow us to hide this abomination.
- My feeds list used to be black and the content was white. This was a visually useful type of contrast. It focused the eye properly and made the UI less cluttered. Now the feeds list is light, light grey. I hate it. Again, at least allow customization.
I can't believe I pay for an app that makes user-hostile changes for no reason like this. Please mitigate this failure.
Edit: Maybe just hire this UI guy because he seems to have independently come to the same conclusions about your interface: https://cdn.dribbble.com/users/407431/screenshots/6718651/integrations.png

Literally every comment on the only article about the web redesign is negative, guys. This isn't a "let's tweak the navbar size a bit" situation. It's a "major changes or full revert" situation. Then please just don't do change for the sake of change again.
