don't show old articles when there are no more unread articles (and only show unread filter is on).
when all articles are read and the "only show unread articles" filter is on, feedly still shows me all my old articles. the point of this filter should be to not show me stuff i've already read. in google reader, it just tells me i've read everything, which is much better than showing me stuff i've read already.

Wake up Feedly, this still isn't fixed. What's the fucking point in having the option 'show only unread' if it doesn't do anything ?
I need to see my old articles... :(

Please make previously read articles optional and default to unread. The lack of such a feature relegates Feedly to inefficient as a reader.

I just want the message "There are no unread articles in this section" and nothing more, no list of the articles I have already read. That would save Feedly from a lot of unnecessary load too. (Somewhere there has to be a toggle I can use when I really want to see all the articles, read ones too.) Google Reader had this.
PS! I see that some people want the read articles to be listed always so this might need a setting in the preferences.

I'd like to be able to switch the "view/hide read articles" on and off. Most mornings I just want to read the new stuff.
Don't listen to these idiots. Of course you want to see your old items. In fact, I want to see my old items under my NEW items, at ALL TIMES. This calls for an option of course, but just remember that some of us are looking at more than frivolous cat pictures and might want to go back and look at read content.
yes -- horrible -- ugh
Frankly, I would like to be able to see all articles (read or unread) -- unless I've used the filter. And, I would like to save articles for the future.
hear hear! And annoyingly, it always seems to show the articles I wasn't interested in first time round!

Agree. This has been confusing me A LOT. It's given me a bad impression of Feedly so far because it feels broken.
This obviously needs to change. The current implementation makes no sense showing every article when I have "only unread' selected.
Agree - Would love the option to NOT show items I've already read. Actually, don't understand the thinking behind the current setup. If there's 1 unread item, then only that item shows up, but if there are NO unread items, then EVERYTHING shows up.

Actually I love this feature, but I understand if people would like to have it as an option, rather than a requirement.

Agreed - and the iOS and I think Android apps are better in this regard.

I agree, With 'Unread only' when there are no items it shouldn't show any - I like to quickly check if there are any new news items, now when I check I see a filled page, than have to check the unread count to see if there is anything new.
Having a filter option that only shows unread + saved items would be even better!

Yes! This was totally irritating me when I switched to feedly, and it doesn't match the great impression that feedly leaves altogether.
The only way to clean the view from already-read entries in that situation seems to be a browser refresh, but the next refresh inside the webapp shows all the old stuff again.
One might argue on whether the current behaviour is a feature, but IMHO it's a bug.
